How to Keep the Kids Entertained at Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving can be a hectic time — especially if you’re in the kitchen! There’s so much to keep track of and the last thing you want to hear is "I'm bored” from the kids. SmileyCookie.com has some suggestions for fun Thanksgiving activities for the family

Have Them Help You Cook

Kids love to be included, and since you need an extra pair of hands, you can put them to work! Have them wash vegetables, place dishes and silverware at the dinner table, and more! You receive the help you need, and they create core memories they’ll take with them into future Thanksgivings!

Smiley Cookie Decorating Kits

Think about it: Smiley Cookie Decorating Kits are the perfect way to keep an eye on the kids while you prepare dinner. Place the kids at a table with our kits and let their creativity fly! Each kit comes with an assortment of uniced cookies, icing, and sanding sugar. Plus, you can tell them they’re preparing dessert!

Color What You’re Thankful For

In keeping with the spirit of the season, give the kids a few sheets of paper and some crayons and ask them to create artwork for dinner. The theme: “What you’re thankful for!” It keeps them busy and later the artwork will make the guests go, “aww!” The artwork might even make good placemats (just make sure you don’t get food on them!).

Turkey Bowling

This activity mixes Thanksgiving kids crafts with a fun family game everyone can enjoy! Get some brown plastic cups and decorate them into turkeys (glue triangle eyes and feathers out of construction paper) and then stack the cups for Turkey Bowling! What can you use to bowl? Pretty much anything! A mini pumpkin or even a tennis ball will do the trick!
